Is it neccessary for the weather to be hot and sunny for the solar panels to work?

Although solar panels work best in hot and sunny weather, a large amount of heat can be generated in the diffuse light of cloudy days.

Can I use solar panels with a combi boiler?

Hot water fron the solar collector is stored in a pre-heat cylinder. Water then flows out of this cylinder to the cold connection of the combi boiler. Therefore the boiler only has to 'top up' the heat generated by the solar collectors.

Do the solar panels from Halo Solar meet European Standards?

All collectors from Halo Solar are independantly tested in Germany and have full certification to
BS/EN 12975 parts 1 and 2.

Will we be charged V.A.T. on our renewable energy products?

17 1/2% V.A.T. will be charged on products supplied only. Supply and installation on a new build project is zero rated and a reduced rate of 5% is charged on installed systems.

You can rest assured it's better for the environment, reducing Co2 emmissions, and you will also be helping to conserve the worlds rapidly diminishing supplies of gas and oil. Utilising solar energy for hot water will help reduce the impact of rising oil and gas prices and means that you won't be so reliant on these conventional fuels. Ofcourse installing a good solar system will also add value to your property.
